Auction rules
These rules apply to the charity art auction “Pāri kalniem – pie savējiem”. By registering, making the registration donation and bidding, you confirm that you have read these rules and agree to them.
1. About the auction
The auction is a charity initiative in support of the relatives of Latvian nationals missing in Nepal. 100% of the proceeds from the artworks sold go to the relatives of 15 missing people who have applied for assistance.
The artworks have been donated to the auction by the artists. They can be viewed in person from 13 to 31 October at the “Spice” shopping centre.
2. Registration and participation
To bid, you need to create a bidder account, giving your real first name, last name, email and phone number.
After registering, make the registration donation of €5 under “My account” – online through Ziedot.lv (by card, online banking, Apple Pay or Google Pay) or, where offered, by bank transfer. The donation is non-refundable and is not part of the purchase price of an artwork, even if your bid wins. It goes to the families affected.
After a successful online donation the account is approved automatically and immediately; a donation by bank transfer is approved by the organisers once the payment arrives. Only approved accounts can bid.
3. Bidding
Every artwork has a starting price. The first bid must be at least the starting price; each later bid must be at least €10 higher than the highest bid at that moment. Bids are made in whole euros.
Other bidders see only your bidder number next to your bids. No notifications are sent when you are outbid; current bids are shown in the “Auction” section.
4. Bids are binding
By making the registration donation and taking part in the auction, you agree that your bids are binding. A bid that has been placed cannot be withdrawn or lowered.
By placing a bid, you commit to buying the artwork for the amount you bid if your bid is the highest when the auction closes.
The auction organisers have the right to delete bids that are clearly mistaken or made in bad faith, and to exclude anyone who breaks these rules.
5. Close of the auction
Online bidding closes: 1 November at 00:00.
On 1 November at 12:00 the closing event of the auction takes place at the “Spice” shopping centre, where bidding continues in person. The artwork goes to the bidder whose bid is the highest when the auction closes.
6. Payment and collecting the artwork
The auction organisers will contact the highest bidder about payment and collecting the artwork, using the contact details given at registration.
The winning bid is paid in full; the registration donation of €5 is not deducted from it.
The cost of delivering an artwork is covered by the winning bidder for that artwork. The auction organisers will help coordinate the delivery.
7. Personal data
When registering you give your first name, last name, email and phone number. This information and your bids are used only to run the auction and to contact you.
Your name and contact details are visible only to the auction organisers. If you would like your data corrected or deleted, get in touch with us.
8. Changes to the rules and contact
The auction organisers may clarify these rules; the version published on this page is the one in force.
If you have questions, contact the auction organisers. Contact details are available under “My account”.
